Am I the only human left on this planet who has not watched a single episode of Game of Thrones? I might be. And honestly, I'm totally okay with it because at this point, I've definitely missed the mark. There's no way I could possibly catch up on all of the seasons now.

But Game of Thrones fanatics, and there's a lot of them, are going to be hype if this is actually true.

HBO is reportedly developing a Game of Thrones prequel series based on the history of the Targaryen family.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the series will specifically chronicle the Dance of the Dragons, the civil war between Rhaenyra and Aegon Targaryen for control over the Seven Kingdoms. The war occurred roughly 200 years before the events depicted in Game of Thrones and will likely feature lots of dragons.

The series will be based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood, which was published earlier this year and is a history of House Targaryen that spans roughly 150 years.
