I personally didn't get into the show, but a lot of my friends did, and it kickstarted Miley Cyrus' career.

From "Old Town Road" to his old Disney Channel hit! Billy Ray Cyrus tells HollywoodLife that a Hannah Montana spinoff series is in the works that would serve as a prequel of sorts for his character, Robby Stewart.

"They’re talking about doing a prequel, which to me, I would do that in a heartbeat," the 58-year-old Cyrus says--adding in a reference to his beloved song from the show, "Because that means I get to get my mullet back." Cyrus also says, “I think there’s a whole story that led up to Miley becoming [Hannah Montana]." Well, who doesn't love a mullet?

On the original series, which ran from 2006-2011, Cyrus played Montana's widowed father, who used to be a country star known as Robbie Ray. Cyrus also admits today that he didn't think he was right for the role, even though it largely mirrored his own life as the one-hit wonder behind "Achy Breaky Heart."

“They had cast me as her dad, and I said, ‘They should get a real actor. I don’t want to mess that show up. They should get a real actor to play her dad, because this is a great script and a great concept,'” he says. “‘It’s going to blow Miley up. It’s going to be big.'”

As soon as dates are announced for the new prequel, we'll let you know. Make sure you listen to The Tea on the show every morning at 6:50 and 8:50!
