I've been wondering when this would happen, and it finally is. Could Idaho be next?

On Wednesday, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced that her state would become the first to issue an outright ban on the sale of flavored e-cigarettes.

"Companies selling vaping products are using candy flavors to hook children on nicotine and misleading claims to promote the belief that these products are safe," she said in a statement. "That ends today.”

The New York Times reports that the new rules will be put in place within the next few weeks, and that businesses will have a month to comply.

Tony Abboud, the executive director of the Vapor Technology Association, opposes the ban, saying it will hurt small businesspeople and create a black market for flavored e-cigarettes.

Someone recently died due to the effects of vaping in Illinois, while San Francisco became the first American city to ban the sale of e-cigarettes in June.
