Taco Tuesday Review – Adelitas Food Truck

From time to time we root for someone or something to do well, today was one of those days. Adelitas Tacos had been recommended a few times by listeners on our IG post and we thought today was the ideal day to hit this spot on Federal & Overland because last week was not the best Taco Tuesday . As we walked in, I noticed they had a little Mexican candy shop that featured so many of my childhood favorites. I immediately thought, this is going to be good. Boy was I wrong! We ordered our typical Carne asada, Pollo asado and Adobada tacos. The carne was bland and loaded with onions that were cut into giant pieces not chopped into small bits proportionate to the small street taco tortillas. The Adobada looked like it was dipped into a vat of red sauce after it was cooked, Mateo couldn't bring himself to eat it. The Pollo had a yellow marinade on that didn't do anything for it, all you could taste was the giant onions. The $9 combo included whole beans and rice in addition to the three tacos so the serving size was impressive. I wish I could say the same for the tacos. Mateo gave Adelitas a 1.5 out of 5 tacos rating which is the lowest we've ever reported. As for me I called it 2 out of 5 tacos with a strong " not coming back" rating. I scored it higher than Mateo because of the candy which I would go back for.
